The Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform works with partners to provide a suite of flexible, fit-for-purpose services that support development investments in governance, stability and resilience in the region.
We are currently supporting upwards of 30 personnel who have been deployed at the request of six Pacific governments (Tuvalu, Nauru, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Kiribati, Federated States of Micronesia and the Cook Islands). Personnel are providing support and leadership in diverse areas, including governance, infrastructure, customs, education, climate change, public financial management, health and more.
In the Federated States of Micronesia, we are supporting Australia’s involvement in the Chuuk Lagoon Project which is addressing the risk of oil spills from World War II shipwrecks in Chuuk Lagoon.
A number of further development investments are currently in the consultation or design phase.
