The Australia-Pacific Partnerships Platform works across a range of diverse cultural, political and professional contexts. Our Pacific partners are proud and resilient as they strive towards greater development outcomes. They understand what they need in order to enhance the resources and expertise available to them.
Our assignments are more than ‘the job’ – they are the people, the partnerships and the ‘bigger picture’ goals of our Pacific partners. Just as the contexts and the investments we support are diverse, so are the people we recruit.
We strive for diversity and actively seek applicants from the Pacific, women, people with disabilities and people who may not have decades of experience, but have the skills AND the attributes needed to fill the role.

Our assignments are more than ‘the job’ – they are the people, the partnerships and the ‘bigger picture’ goals of our Pacific partners. Just as the contexts and the investments we support are diverse, so are the people we recruit.
We want people with ‘soft skills’, who bring cultural understanding, who can think beyond their area of expertise and read situations and connect with those around them.
We want all-rounders who can adapt, respond and are willing to roll up their sleeves to do what needs to be done while keeping an eye to the horizon and the
big-picture.
We Strive For Diversity and Actively seek applicants from Pacific Islanders, women, people with disabilities and people who may not have decades of experience, but have the skills AND the attributes needed to fill the role.
Getting the right people to work alongside our Pacific partners is crucial, and our recruitment process is designed to support this. We also want to support potential candidates to think through not only if a role is right for them, but if a move to a particular country or organisation is likely to also be a good fit for them.
Timeframes can vary and we are working to the needs of multiple stakeholders. It is expected that recruitment to deployment can take between four and six months, and will depend on the requirements of the positions and the circumstances of the successful applicant.
Below is an indicative outline of the deployment process. As per recruitment, timings can vary based on the circumstances of each candidate and the operational context of the location.
